The short answer
Complete a Council of Architecture–approved five-year B.Arch, then register with the Council to practise as an architect.
The route is a five-year Bachelor of Architecture from a Council of Architecture–approved institution, followed by registration with the Council. Admission runs through NATA or JEE Main Paper 2, depending on the state and college.
Registration is what makes you an “architect” in the legal sense and allows you to sign submitted drawings. Studying the Council’s published regulations early saves surprises about eligibility and internship requirements.
